Dr. Diego Garay Ruiz
Dr. Diego Garay Ruiz graduated in Chemistry at the University of Valladolid (2016) and carried out a Master’s degree in Atomistic and Multiscale Computational Modelling at the University of Barcelona and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (2017). After a short research internship at the University of Rochester (USA), he pursued a PhD at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ), in Tarragona, from 2018 to 2023. His research focused on the study of complex chemical reaction networks, combining Density Functional Theory simulations with software development, coding new tools for the automated analysis and the FAIR management of computational results. After that, he took a two-year postdoc position until December 2024 in the same group to continue the development of these tools, together with the application of statistical methods to study the self-assembly of molecular metal oxides.
In January 2025, he joined the FINDER group under the supervision of Prof. Marisol Martín-González.
