José Maria Domínguez Vázquez
Predoctoral Researcher
Jose María was born in Gijón in 1999. He graduated with a bachelor degree in physics in the University of Oviedo, in 2021. Later in 2021, he began his master’s degree in the UAM (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid) in Advanced Materials, Nanotechnology and photonics. In 2022 he joined FINDER group when he started here his master’s thesis, directed by Prof. Alfonso Cebollada, “Fabrication and characterization of ultrathin films and multilayers with use in metamaterials for energy applications” where he developed plasmonic structures with potential use in energy/thermoelectric applications.
At the end of 2022 he re-joined FINDER when he began his doctoral thesis “Fabrication and characterization of thermoelectric thin films grown by sputtering methods” (provisional title) in which he is working now directed by Prof. Alfonso Cebollada and Dr. Andres Conca. This thesis has as one of its main goals to develop the EUROPHAS system, which is part of the project POWERbyU that is financed by the ERC (European Research Council) of the European Union.
