Xiang Yan

Dr. Xiang YAN received his PhD in Solid Chemistry and Materials Science from Lille University, France, in 2020. During the doctoral studies, his research activity focused on the development and characterization of high-performance polymer materials, with particular emphasis on advanced applications in the polymer and textile sectors. He earned his M.Sc. in Material Science from Sichuan University, China, in 2016, and his B.Sc. in Polymer Material and Engineering from Sichuan University, China, in 2013.

Upon completion of his PhD, he moved to Zhejiang University, China, where he worked as a lecturer from 2021 to 2023. His research concentrated high-molecular-weight polymers, exploring the structure-property relationships and enhancing material performance through innovative processing techniques. In 2023, he joined the Faculty of Engineering – Civil and Environmental Engineering Dept, University of Alberta, Canada to study Raman enhancement materials fabricated by solvent exchange, focusing on flexible PDMS materials.

Dr. Xiang YAN’s research interests are centered on polymer engineering, where he has made significant contributions to the academic research and practical applications of fibers and polymers. His work is particularly focused on the development of advanced polymeric materials and their applications in various functionalities.
